It was a beautiful day today with highs in the 60s, sunshine and a cool breeze. The girls and I took a blanket out to the yard, layed down and listened to the birds chirp and the dogs bark. One of our goals for 2009 is to be more intentional about getting outside. So I made us each a little notebook to write and draw in. E needs some practice writing sentences, so I gave her some specific questions to answer. H wrote some words and drew some pictures. It felt almost springlike.

This is a great goal! I should do this with B
ReplyDeleteYou are so organized and resourceful!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the notebooks and getting outside more. One of the educational leaders I admire, Charlotte Mason, advocates kids being outside and observing nature and keeping a journal with drawing!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, I'll have to remember to do something like this with EmmaLi. I will have to just ask her for a while since she is only 4.5 but eventually she can write her own answers.
ReplyDeleteLove that idea! Will try it with my girls (and always inside son).
